Not sure? How to find your gas safety certificate
A valid gas safety certificate is usually a PDF or paper record issued after a landlord gas safety check.
Try these places first:
• your email inbox — search “gas safety”, “CP12”, the property address, or the engineer/company name
• your letting agent or property manager
• the gas engineer or company who carried out the check
• your compliance folder, tenancy paperwork, or cloud storage
• previous landlord admin software or old invoices
If you find the document, check the property address matches,
the inspection date is shown clearly, and the certificate looks recent enough to still be in date.
If you still can’t find it,
it’s safest to assume you need to check with the original provider or arrange a new inspection.
Check your property. Fix the gaps. Stay compliant.
